Public Relations Association of Louisiana Presents Sate Educator Award

Cathy Rogers receives PRAL State Educator award


NEW ORLEANS: DATE: The Public Relations Association of Louisiana (PRAL), a statewide association serving public relations professionals in member chapters throughout Louisiana, announced Dr. Cathy Rogers as winner of the PRAL State Educator for the Year for 2012. The award was established to honor a member of PRAL who is a full-time faculty member teaching in public relations, journalism or communications. The recipient of this award represents Louisiana in the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF) Educator of the Year award competition.


“Cathy is a very accomplished professional and educator and we are very excited to be able to honor her with this award.” stated Amy Nolan,  2012president of Public Relations Association of Louisiana.  “She is well recognized in the New Orleans community for her leadership in public relations education and her work with public relations students.”

Rogers is a professor at Loyola University in New Orleans. She joined the university in 1990 and her work with students in a prestigious national public relations competition has placed the School of Mass Communication in the national spotlight.


About Public Relations Association of Louisiana

In 2011, the state organization of PRAL was formed to create networking, professional development and accreditation for members of local chapters. The organization is managed by a volunteer board of directors with representatives from each of the five chapters in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Acadiana, Central and Northwest Louisiana. PRAL members are also members of the Southern Public Relations Federation, which includes organizations from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
